Set up email forwarding

It is a one-time setup that takes about a minute. Pick your email provider below for the exact steps.

You forward bank alerts

A one-time rule in your email sends bank alert emails to your private Aamdani address.

We read the transaction

We pull out the amount, merchant, and date, and add it to your ledger automatically.

The email is deleted

We never store the raw email. Only the transaction stays, and only you can see it.

Gmail confirms the address once, then a one-time filter per bank forwards new alerts automatically.

  1. 1On a desktop browser, open Gmail, then Settings (gear icon), then See all settings, then Forwarding and POP/IMAP.
  2. 2Click "Add a forwarding address", paste your-address@aamdani.pk, then Next and Proceed.
  3. 3Gmail emails a confirmation link to that address. We forward that link to your own inbox within a minute. Open it and click confirm.
  4. 4Back in Settings, open Filters and Blocked Addresses, then Create a new filter.
  5. 5In the From field, enter your bank's alert sender (listed below), then Create filter.
  6. 6Tick "Forward it to" and choose your-address@aamdani.pk, then Create filter.
  7. 7Repeat the filter step for each bank you use.

Bank senders to use

Use your bank's alert address, for example alerts@hbl.com.

Gmail sends a confirmation link to your Aamdani address. We forward it to your own inbox within a minute, so just open that email and click the link.
  • Gmail only forwards to an address it has confirmed, so the confirmation step is required once.
  • Filters and forwarding can only be set up on the desktop site, not the phone app.
Your forwarding address is unique to you and cannot be guessed. After you sign up, you will find it on the Setup screen and on your dashboard, ready to copy into the steps above.
